| Remove these two screws. |
| ...and this piece of protective tape. |
| Remove these five screws. |
| Remove this small magnet using a sharp edge, and remove the screw underneath. |
| Loosen the trackpad cable by prying the brown bar upwards with a small screwdriver. |
| Disengage the trackpad cable. |
| Manually open the CD module tray by inserting a paper clip as shown. |
| Remove this screw. |
| ...and this one which is somewhat obscured by the rail of the CD module. Make sure that the white rail has retracted into the CD case to provide you with more room. |
| Gently pry the top case up and over the AC port. |
| Continue lifting the case upwards. |
| Loosen this cable from its adhesive backing. |
| ...and disconnect it. |
| If you find the bottom of the case is catching, check to see if these tabs have cleared the sides of the stiffening frame. If not, you can use a sharp blade to help them along. |
| Do not yet completely remove the top frame. First disconnect this cable located underneath the top of it. |
