Mentally prepare yourself for the task at hand. G4 displays are glued together, and have been known to test both patience, and dexterity. You should accept beforehand that there may very well be visible imperfections in the reconstructed version. If you feel like you are permanently breaking or misshaping the front bezel during this procedure, stand back for a moment and take a break. I wouldn~t recommend getting a beer just yet.

Gently finesse a sharp knife underneath the bezel at the position indicated. Be very careful not to scratch the screen with the end of the knife. Continue working the knife all the way around until the bezel is freed.

The freed bezel will probably wind up looking bent as it does in this image. If not, then you are quite lucky.

Try to straighten out the piece by laying it upside down on a flat, hard surface. Evenly and gently apply weight using your full palm. Pushing too hard or too quickly in one spot will cause the bezel to buckle. If you buckle your bezel then use a pair of wide pliers to try to straighten things out. You can reduce scratching from the pliers by attaching masking tape to the plier~s surface.
